Volunteer Health Watch Program

ESV Healthwatch logo

Over the past two years, CFA has worked closely with the Volunteer Associations, Victoria State Emergency Service, Australian Volunteer Coast Guard and Life Saving Victoria to develop a volunteer health monitoring program for all CFA and emergency service volunteers.

With the support of funding from the Valuing Volunteers Program, the health and wellbeing program will soon be released to all CFA volunteers across the state.

Volunteers can face harsh environments and heavy workloads when on duty and this program is designed to help you prepare for the often difficult tasks you face on the fireground. It will help you maintain a healthy and safe working environment for you and your crew members.

This site contains an array of information on general health, incident health, nutrition, HIV and Hepatitis, as well as a body mass index (BMI) calculator and regular updates on the latest health related information.

The site also offers a cardio risk assessment database. Members can create a personal account using ‘Heartrack’, which has the ability to identify and quantify multiple risk factors for lifestyle related diseases and reduce those risk levels for people in the high-risk category.
