Stay or Go – The Los Angeles Times account of the Australian bushfighting mentality

In Australia, sheltering at home does not mean simply waiting the fire out. It means confronting the menace with hose, mop and shovel.

Rural Victorians were recently featured in the Los Angeles Times. The Baker family from Brisbane Ranges was used an example to emphasise the Australian stay or go' approach when faced with protecting their homes from fire.

While the Australian approach has yet to be adopetd in the United States, the devastating losses in America's West have some saying the model deserves to be considered.

Very interesting and worth watching. I'll be curious to see if the US consider this strategy to stay and fight. It's about time Australia provided leadership to the US!
