Is there a CFA hero you would like to sing about?
Right across the country, nominations are being called for the IGA Community Chest Unsung Hero Awards 2008. This is an opportunity to reward the people in your community who work tirelessly within our local neighbourhoods.
An ‘unsung hero’ is someone who is always doing something for someone else. They might be the person who’s always volunteering at the footy club sausage sizzler, or the tireless fundraiser for the local charity. It might be the person who makes a positive contribution to the local environment or someone who passes on a valuable skill. This program is a chance to reward these special individuals who work diligently, often without thanks.
Each nominated regional winner will be awarded $250 worth of IGA vouchers plus a $250 cash donation to go to their charity or organisation of choice. These winners automatically go into the running to take out the state prize; as determined by an online public vote. The state winner’s chosen charity or organisation will be further rewarded with a $5,000 donation.
Nominations close on 30 September 2008. All you have to do is tell us in 200 words or less why you feel the individual of choice should be selected as an Unsung Hero.
So be quick, and submit your nominations here before 30 September.
