Nine CFA competitors took part in the recent Australasian Police and Emergency Services Games held at Coffs Harbour, New South Wales.

CFA’s medal tally was six golds, 14 silvers and five bronze – 23 medals in total.

CFA’s competitors were made up of staff and volunteers who contested 10 sports, comprising aquathon, archery, darts, duathlon, golf, clay target shooting, squash, swimming, triathlon and track and field.

The competitors were Region 10 Fire Officer Peter Barr, Region 10 DMO staff Kaye Barr, Region 14 volunteers Aaron Dodd, Daniel Gregory and Phil Norton, Region 14 staff Garry Windus, and Region 13 volunteers Lenny Martin, Adam Tozer and Brian Neal.

CFA’s Sport and Recreation Association (SRA) supported competitors by providing pre-games coordination services and a team uniform.

The next games will be held in Tasmania in February 2010. Visit the website for more information.

Meanwhile, CFA SRA is looking for genuine and enthusiastic sportspeople to become part of the committee. Minimum involvement is six meetings a year at State HQ. Please contact Brian Neal on 0409 197 913.
