CFA was a winner at the annual Ballarat Regional Occupational Safety and Health Group (BROSH) OHS Awards held in Ballarat in late-October.
Region 15 BASO Sherene Mounier won the 2008 BROSH OHS Scholarship Award, and will commence her studies in OHS at VIOSH Australia next year. VIOSH, at the University of Ballarat, is one of Victoria’s premier OHS training providers.
BROSH promotes the sharing and networking of ideas on accident prevention within our own industries and the wider community. BROSH members maintain an ongoing liaison in the field of health and safety through education programs, symposiums and awards ceremonies, in order to develop partnerships with a range of organisations to promote safe work practices.
The added value to CFA will be another person in the ranks with specialist OHS knowledge to provide mentoring, guidance and advice at brigade level.
We congratulate Sherene on this impressive accomplishment and wish her well in her future studies with VIOSH.
