Chiltern Fire Brigade: beginning a new era

With the amalgamation of Chiltern Urban and Rural Brigades, elections were held for the newly-formed Chiltern Fire Brigade on 4 December 2008.

Newly elected positions:

Captain: Gary Richardson
1st Lieutenant: Shane Zuber
2nd Lieutenant: Jamie Hammond
3rd Lieutenant: Brett Hocking
4th Lieutenant: Ned Gavranic
Secretary: Joan McGregor
Treasurer: Wayne Dempsey
Communications Officer: Marelle Whitaker

Captain Gary Richardson thanked the outgoing captains of the Urban and Rural Brigades, Andrew Walls and Stewart McGregor for their outstanding contribution during their years of service. He went on to say: “The aim of the new brigade is to protect the community of Chiltern by providing the highest possible standard of service.”

He also thanked Region 24 Operations Manager Paul King and Region 24 Operations Officer Nigel Parson for their assistance in the amalgamation process and Indigo Shire Coucillor Barb Murdoch for assisting with the election process and acting as observer.
