Kallista-The Patch Captain Ralph Ross has written a letter to CFA Chief Officer Russell Rees commending the recent seatbelt safety video and how wearing seatbelts had helped two firefighter avoid serious injury when their tanker rolled over last year.
Two firefighters from Kallista-The Patch brigade were involved in the tanker rollover incident on 14 December 2008 in Monbulk. The incident occurred less than a few weeks after the firefighters watched a CFA video about the importance of wearing seatbelts. In his letter Ralph said that the seatbelts the men were wearing helped secure them in their seats during the incident.
The letter is reproduced below. You can read about the Kallista-The Patch tanker rollover incident in the 24 December 2008 edition of Fire Flyer.
