Caring for Our Country Bushfire Funds

The Australian Government has announced an additional $5 million of Caring for our Country funding to assist with the long-term recovery of natural resources and farm land damaged in the Victorian bushfires.

The funding could be used to support a range of environmental and landscape repair work including weed control programs in fire-affected areas and erosion control work on stream banks and around wetlands.

The closing date for all Caring for our Country 2009-10 Business Plan proposals has been deferred from 6 March 2009 to 3 April 2009.
