On Friday night 27 Feb around 9:50 pm a structure fire was reported in Mordialloc. When CFA and MFB crews arrived on-scene they located a DVD and video warehouse well alight.
Water supplies were low in the area and additional hose layer pods and pumpers were called to relay the water from several hundred metres away. Strong south-westerly winds fanned the fire causing exposure issues with an adjoining factory, which was eventually spared any major damage.
Police blocked off a section of Boundary Road to allow the hose-lay and better access for fire appliances. The fire was brought under control within 90 minutes and crews stayed on fire duty into the next day. Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
CFA units from Noble Park, Springvale, Edithvale, Dandenong, Frankston, Patterson River and Keysborough attended the call and several other brigades stepped up into other stations.
