Career Firefighter recruitment information session - Wodonga

A Career Firefighting information session held at Wodonga Fire Station on 30 November was attended by 48 potential candidates from the surrounding region.

Aimed at encouraging individuals from the region to consider a career as a firefighter, the day was very productive with many participating in the activities and asking lots of questions.

Leading Firefighter Malcolm Bruce from Wangaratta Fire Station talked to the group about his experience with the 16 week recruit course at Fiskville, and Julian Harvey from Ballarat University supervised the fitness (BEEP) test activity for 28 of the attendees.

Operations Officer Wayne Petford, Fire Officer John Richards and Firefighter Graeme Cooper, a graduate from the 2006 course, also assisted with the activities and answering questions.
