The review of Head Office accommodation is proceeding, with a submission to the Board due at the end of May.
The following questions have been received from staff and responses are noted below.
Staff Involvement
Q: Why were the unions consulted twice before staff here?
A: Staff consultation has taken place through Directorate representatives since June 2007, through the course of the Accommodation Review process.
Q: Can we form a staff committee with staff representatives from each Directorate?
A: Staff consultation will take place through representatives nominated by that Directorate.
Q: When will more details about each proposed site be made available, and when will staff be able to provide feedback on each of the proposed sites? A timeframe for this was not evident in the timeline shown in the presentation.
A: The project team is assessing options for submission to a Board Meeting at the end of May. The submission will recommend a location and a way forward for the Head Office Tenancy.
Due to the confidential nature of final negotiations in this process we are not able to provide further detail at this stage. However, there will be ample opportunity for staff input through the process of tenancy design through the Directorate representatives.
It is likely that the process of tenancy design will take place over four months from July to October 2008.
Car Access
Q: What will entrance/exit congestion be like from the car parks of each of the proposed sites?
A: The shortlisted sites are, of course, located in Business and Office Parks, similar to Tally Ho Technology Park. Some traffic congestion at peak times will be a reality for a selected facility.
A traffic report will be prepared by the base building proponent as part of the planning application submission, and this report will address issues such as car parking and site access.

I have another question - are we moving to a 5 or 6 green star energy efficient building - and if not, why not?
