Edithvale brigade was first on scene to a member of its community in cardiac arrest recently, and was quickly joined by Highett Ambulance crew and a Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance crew from Frankston (MICA 6).
The Edithvale Emergency Medical Response (EMR) brigade members began resuscitation efforts with Ambulance Victoria personnel. The patient regained a pulse, was transported to hospital and has since made a full recovery.
On behalf of the brigade, Edithvale Captain Andrew Gibson accepted a framed letter acknowledging the 'save', which was signed by CFA Chief Officer Russell Rees and Associate Professor Tony Walker, Executive General Manager, Education & Professional Standards, Ambulance Victoria.
CFA Deputy Chief Officer Steven Warrington and Associate Professor Tony Walker were on hand to present the letter and personally congratulate Edithvale members.
The EMR pilot will continue into 2009.
Congratulations Edithvale!
