Get ready for summer with the Riddells Creek Bushfire and Emergency Services Expo!
Get ready for summer this November at the Riddells Creek Bushfire and Emergency Services Expo. Pick up bushfire survival tips from the experts and then stick around for a great day’s entertainment at this unique community event.
Riddells Creek is a picturesque country town, nestled at the foothills of the Macedon Ranges 40km northwest of Melbourne. Now in its third year, the Expo blends summer bushfire awareness messages with family-friendly entertainment.
Bushfire planning workshops will be a feature and parents can learn more about fire safety with fire extinguisher demonstrations while the kids will be kept amused with children’s firetruck rides alongside a range of fun, interactive activities.
Western Water, Wildlife Victoria, Landcare, Victoria Police, Red Cross, Salvation Army, Ambulance and VICSES will also be present to offer advice and information.
From 3pm it's the Lions Club Fair—and time for some good old fashioned fun! Rides and stalls will be a feature and live bands and musicians will keep the night rollicking along with live entertainment. Topping things off in spectacular style will be the Riddells Creek CFA Torchlight Parade and fireworks display at 8.30pm.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic hamper and blanket and enjoy the live performances into the evening.
Event organiser Alex Batty said the Expo was a fun day with a positive, educational message.
“It’s a fantastic day out: great location, positive message and entertainment for everyone. Visit for a little bit or stay a little longer—there is sure to be something of interest for everyone.”
