CFA crews were called to attend a house fire in Dalyston on Saturday 18 October 2008, at 12.30pm.
Dalyston brigade was the primary response; supporting brigades included the Wonthaggi pumper, tanker and HAZMAT vehicle, Kilcunda tanker, Bass tanker, Glen Forbes tanker, Inverloch tanker and Frankston BA Support.
The house became fully-involved within minutes. Strong winds put the local shop next door under threat, and crews were forced to use breathing apparatus (BA) to protect the assets of neighbouring buildings. The fire destroyed the house and garage on the property and the adjoining fence to the shop next door.

Well done Daylston, it's great to see how our "Rural" brothers got down and dirty with a job that could have had horrible sinificance for that small town, just goes to show that when it comes to getting the job done that RECEO etc, etc pays off for us all no matter where we are.
