Hazelwood North brigade 2nd Lieutenant Roslyn Greaves has won the Big W Community Involvement Award for 2008.

She was nominated by her employer, the Morwell Big W store, for her involvement with CFA. Roslyn was selected the state winner from many other nominations from across Victoria in various volunteer fields.

Roslyn joined the Hazelwood North brigade in 1999. Once she completed wildfire training she was able to become an active member, attending many wildfire, motor vehicle accients and structural fire calls. In 2002 Roslyn was appointed 4th Lieutenant and has continued in that role, advancing to 2nd Lieutenant.

Roslyn was invited to the National Managers conference in Brisbane, along with winners from other states.

Roslyn thanked everyone involved with her nomination and felt very privileged to be given such an award. She also acknowledged brigade Captain Ray Beaton, the Hazelwood North brigade members and the Hazelwood North community for all their support.

Ray congratulated Roslyn on her achievement.

"Roslyn is an example of what one can achieve with commitment and dedication," he said. "I hope many others will follow her lead."
