On Monday 11 May, Fire Flyer's illustrious career will come to an end, and the next level of CFA's online communications will be born.
After publishing more than 630 articles in over 75 editions, Fire Flyer will be relaunched as CFA Connect. Connect will include everything you already love about Fire Flyer and improve on everything you don't.
With new features like a blog, forum and self-publishing abilities, Connect will truly be your website. We're asking people to get involved by registering on the site, contributing their own local and statewide news, and joining in the discussions about all that's happening around CFA.
Working closely with CFA's Online Services team, we have developed a process that verifies CFA members registering with the site, so you'll be granted extra privileges and access that won't be available to the general public. You'll need a CFA Online (Brigades Online and the Intranet) login, though, so if you don't have one, organise a login now by following these simple steps.
If you're not a CFA member and you'd still like to join the discussion, you'll be able to sign up as well. And, of course, anybody can browse the site like you would Fire Flyer; no login required. But that's enough talk. Here are a few snaps to give you a taste of what to expect.
Then it's over to you to get connected!

Fire Flyer to be replaced by new website

Not the best of ideas to optimize readship. It relys on active rather than passive participation . ie members must search and go to a site rather than have items 'pushed'to them through email or redirection to
local email banks. ie not everyone will take the time to regularly visit the site but if the articles ór links are 'pushed' out to readers via email like they are now, they can choose to follow up or not, but at least they are given the information rather than having to go look for it.
Fire Flyer has, I think, worked very well. I hope the new site works as good.
