Community Safety Emergency Support Program
Applications Open
-Additional Funding Allocation -

The State Government has committed $11 million to continue the Community Safety Emergency Support Program (CSESP). These funds are made available across other emergency services agencies including the Victoria State Emergency Service, Life Saving Victoria and Australian Volunteer Coast Guard. It is estimated that CFA’s share of these funds will be approximately $5 million.

CFA will also continue its support with funding allocations over the remaining two years of the program.

The CFA share of the overall CSESP will focus on providing brigades with the opportunity to replace existing aged brigade-owned tankers or to acquire new tankers, vehicles or equipment.

The Minister for Police and Emergency Services, Bob Cameron, announced the opening of Round 3 on 1 May 2009 during a visit to Gippsland. An additional funding allocation has again been granted for the purpose of acquiring Ultra Light Tankers. This appliance has superior ergonomic features and enhanced fire suppression capability.

Application packs have been sent to brigades and Groups inviting them to submit an application. If your brigade/Group did not receive an application pack you can access this information from the following sources;

Completed application forms, along with relevant documentation, should be forwarded to your Operations Manager by 29 May 2009 for processing in time for RPC meetings.

All documents pertaining to the application process are also available on CFA Online under 'Running a Brigade'.
