CFA is pleased to announce that a volunteer affiliate – Volunteering Australia – intends running a national advertising campaign to acknowledge the work of all Australian volunteers.
Volunteering Australia has secured the support of a major sponsor to conduct a national “volunteer thank you” media campaign running through to National Volunteer Week (11th to 17th May).
The campaign will run across TV, radio and press and will feature a broad range of volunteers. Given the recent major bushfires in Victoria and floods in Queensland the advertising will feature TV newsroom footage from those events. The key message will be to thank volunteers for their ongoing commitment to their communities and draw focus to National Volunteer Week as a great opportunity for public acknowledgement.
It’s anticipated that there will be significant media support to feature this advertising. Volunteering Australia is confident that it will receive more than $1 million of air time and hope for significantly more.
The focus of the campaign is to thank volunteers in all capacities without focussing on one segment or agency and therefore complement any agency specific message.
CFA will leverage off this national campaign to conduct additional volunteer focused campaigns this year.
Volunteering Australia is the national peak body working to advance volunteering in the Australian community. Its role is to represent the diverse views and needs of the volunteer sector while promoting the activity of volunteering as one of enduring social, cultural and economic value.
