Official rose of CFA announced

FIRESTAR

CFA has been recognised with an official Rose. The announcement was made at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show 2009.

Proceeds from the sales of the Rose, named FIRESTAR, will raise money for CFA.

The plan is to release a new commemorative Rose every year. The first Rose in the series is called FIRESTAR.

The decision to name the first rose in the series 'FIRESTAR' comes from the CFA symbol used in some form by most Volunteer Fire Brigades in Australia - representing virtues of tact, loyalty, dexterity, observation, sympathy, gallantry, perseverance and explicitness.

It is hoped FIRESTAR will become a lasting reminder of the bravery that occurred. You can help market FIRESTAR by logging onto the website and registering your interest at www.firestar.org.au

You can become a friend of FIRESTAR, raising funds to support CFA.The money raised will be used to replace equipment and help implement training and support programs for volunteers.
