Captain Koala relaunched

CFA’s fire safety mascot Captain Koala’s new look brought some joy to children during a visit to Bendigo Health in late November.

Members from Bendigo CFA joined Captain Koala (CK) to send around some safety messages and Christmas cheer. Kids were given hugs, activity books, rulers and Christmas treats by the cuddly character during his morning visit to the Children’s ward.

The new CFA activity book called Captain Koala’s Fire Break has also been created to link with CK’s new look. The book teaches primary school age children about the dangers of fire, how fires spread and what kids can do to stay safe. It also encourages children to teach their parents a thing or two about fire safety.

CK’s online presence with colour-ins and puzzles for kids of all ages will be launched in the New Year. For a copy of Captain Koala’s activity book please email captain.koala@cfa.vic.gov.au
