A new book that draws together the work of 35 fire sector academics has been launched by the Bushfire Cooperative Research Centre in Melbourne.
Titled “Community Bushfire Safety”, the 200 page book reports the outcome of five years' work by researchers and validates much of the current approach Australian fire agencies take in educating communities about bushfire.

New Fire Notes released
The Bushfire Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) has just released two new Fire Notes. They were presented at last week’s Stakeholder Council Meeting by two Bushfire CRC students, Brendan Pippen and Ken Scott, who have just completed their PhD studies.
Brendan’s research is on “Fuel moisture and fuel dynamics in woodland and heathland vegetation of the Sydney Basin.”
Ken’s topic is “Measuring responses to fire regimes in northern Australia.”
Fire Notes from the other completed Bushfire CRC students who presented at the Stakeholder meeting will follow in coming weeks.
