The State Rural Championships were held at Wodonga on 5 & 6 April. There were 28 events over two days – 18 senior events and 10 for juniors.
One hundred and twenty-nine teams from 45 brigades took part, including three from New South Wales. Estimates are that up to 2000 people – competitors, families and onlookers – travelled to Wodonga to take part or watch the rural championships.
