The long-awaited second edition of The Firefighter’s Recipe Book is now available.
Following the success of the first recipe book, Leading Firefighter Bryan Suckling and his team at Bendigo Firestation and Community Education Coordinator (Region 2) Andrew Gill have come up with a follow-up edition that promises to be better than the first.
“We’ve jazzed up the book, and lifted it a bit with cartoon characterisations of the recipe providers,” said Andrew. “There are also some new recipes and a foreword by ABC Radio’s Jonathan Ridnell.”
The book has inspired a series of 'cook-offs' in the North West Area, with keen participation from other agencies including VIC SES, Victoria Police, Rural Ambulance and Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE). The finals were held at the recent Fire Awareness Day in Melbourne, with SES winning the challenge.
The Firefighter’s Recipe Book costs $11. To purchase a copy please email recipebook@cfa.vic.gov.au
